Hilarious postal joke from my dad, Big Band Phil Bowers

A woman took a package to the post office to mail and was
told it would cost $2.40 for fast delivery or $1.30 for
slower service.

"There is no hurry," she told the clerk, "just so the
package is delivered within my lifetime."

The postmaster glanced at her and said, "That will be $2.40,
please."

The economy...scary!

The economy is shaping up to be the scariest in my lifetime!

Only during the reign of the infamous Jimmy Carter was I more in fear for the future of this nation... at that time it was runaway inflation, interest rates of 13% or more on mortgages, and rising gas prices!

Now, it's similar: you think that all that you believe is eternal in your country is... slipping! Changing in weird and negative ways. Capitalism, the bedrock of democracy, is being portrayed as : EVIL. Socialism, as personified by the anointed one, OBAMA, is shown to be the SOLUTION!

BIG GOVERNMENT as the SOLUTION???

I work at the Post Office. Big Government can make anything fail faster than you can imagine: I know! Government is best when it as SMALL as possible.

Obama will make government as BIG as possible!

He is a socialist, pure and simple. Marx, Lenin, Stalin, and Hitler were as well. FDR too.

I suggest we move in the other direction. Sarah Palin. And John Mc Cain.

Well, it appears there will be an article about me next week! How unexpected...

A journalist by the name of Chris came by the house today, and interviewed me about my mail delivery career, and we had a really nice talk. He, like me, majored in English in college; so, we are both "men of letters", as my dad always says about me. He went to U of Illinois; I went to Illinois State U. Anyway, the paper even plans to send a photographer to photograph me on Saturday! So, keep your eye out for me in the paper.......
