The Kimtones

The new effort we are doing at church is the Kimtones:

Pastor Kim sings lead (hence the name), I am on tenor, and Mark Bertrang is the baritone/bass.

As a trio, you'd think the sound would be a little... thin. But it's NOT!

Strangely, even barbershop songs sound very clean, and full!

We plan to sing on our upcoming Onalaska Methodist Church sponsored trip to Korea this summer. Those Koreans won't know what hit them!

"But Jay" I hear you thinking. "What SONGS do you plan to sing to the Koreans??"

Glad you asked, youngsters!

Gospel songs. Barbershop songs. And patriotic songs- The Star Spangled Banner! The Korean National Anthem!! (A real toe-tapper).

In future blogs, I will have youtubes ready for your viewing pleasure here- I think the show stopper will be How Great Thou Art, done in a version inspired by the ISAACS, a great gospel group.

Also, we hope to have daughters Holly and Brianne sing with their dads, and Kevin debuted today with us, singing the bass part to Let Me Call You Sweetheart, only an octave UP.

I'll keep you posted!
Jay
